Constructed Sentience
A research framework that draws from both systems art and computational theory. Constructed Sentience investigates whether synthetic behavioral systems can individuate through memory, self-constraint, situated responsiveness, and irreversible transformation.

Synthetic Cinema
These projects extend my research on constructed sentience into narrative form. Beginning with my early work in generative montage, Synthetic Cinema asks what happens when artificial systems begin to remember, misrecognize, desire, explain, mourn, or narrate from within the worlds they produce.

Emergent Systems
Foundational works in emergence, adaptation, aLife, and evolutionary computing. Emergent Systems pursued individuation before the theoretical framework existed to support it. These were systems that adapted, evolved, and self-organized, while pushing against the limits of what parameter-driven computation can produce.
